Buffalo Public Schools Announces Return to Regular School Schedule Next Week
BUFFALO, N.Y. (June 21, 2024) – The National Weather Service is forecasting more seasonal temperatures in the Buffalo area next week. As a result, the district will return to its regular school day schedule. Again, no changes have been made to the NYS regents exam schedules, and the exams have not been canceled. High school students will be expected to report for their regularly scheduled regents exams next week. The last day of school for students is Tuesday, June 25 and the last day for teachers is Thursday, June 27.

Buffalo Public Schools Announces Half Days Next Week Due to Excessive Heat
The National Weather Service is forecasting excessive heat in the Buffalo area this week. In anticipation of this and out of great concern for students, the Buffalo Public Schools has decided to implement four half days next week for students in all Early Childhood, elementary, and middle school grade levels (Pre K- Grade 8) on Monday, June 17, Tuesday, June 18, Thursday, June 20, and Friday, June 21. Lunch will be served to all students prior to their dismissal. Students will be released three and a half hours earlier (10:55 a.m., 11:45 a.m., and 12:35 p.m.) than their typical dismissal times.
High school students are not in school on Monday due to NYS regents exams. However, high school students will be expected to report for their regularly scheduled NYS regents exams throughout the rest of the week. Water stations will be available for students taking the regents exams.
Please be reminded that Wednesday, June 19 is a City Holiday and as such, all staff and students are scheduled to be off that day.
Staff will remain at their assigned locations for full workdays next week. Thank you.
