Buffalo Public Schools takes the safety of its students and staff very seriously. We are aware that the FBI is investigating a nationwide cyber threat that originated in Texas and that is not specific to New York State or the City of Buffalo. Out of an abundance of caution, however, all recess activities were conducted indoors today at our schools. It’s crucial to stress that students and staff were not at risk, and this will not affect dismissal or evening sporting events.

What an incredible first day of school! 📚✨
Dr. Williams and her team kicked off the day with a back-to-school bus tour multiple schools to personally greet students, staff, and parents. Joining the tour was Mayor Byron W. Brown, members of the Board of Education, as well as Casimiro Rodriguez, Sr., and Zeneta Everhart, who have been strong supporters of BPS students and staff. Today is the start of the new 3-tier bell system which will mean shorter bus rides and more time in school, thanks to our hardworking BPS staff and First Student partners. Remember to thank your bus drivers and bus aides for their hard work. Let's go!
