On February 27, 1988, Debi Thomas became the first African American to win a Winter Olympic medal in figure skating at the 1988 Winter Olympics, earning bronze and breaking barriers in the sport.
In honor of Black History Month, PS 61 Arthur O. Eve School of Distinction proudly presented Motown Magic, a celebration of the legendary sounds of Motown. The school’s exceptional music program was on full display, showcasing the dedication, talent, and hard work of our students. February 25: This Day in Black History — In 1964, Muhammad Ali won the heavyweight title and became one of the most influential athletes in history.
Congratulations to our Yale Cup Division 2 and Division 3 basketball champions. Olmsted and Middle Early College finished as Co-champs in Division 2 while East locked up the Division 3 title in Coach Bryant's final season.
