Houghton Academy gives K–6 students a hands-on opportunity to shop for family gifts while building literacy and financial skills through list-making, math connections, and thoughtful decision-making. This experience supports the school’s Pathway to Proficiency and reflects Houghton Academy’s commitment to student growth and learning.




PS 61 celebrated the season with Winter Around the World, a multicultural holiday concert featuring selected 3rd and 4th grade chorus students, a violin orchestra, and a dance performance. A wonderful showcase of talent, culture, and creativity—great job to our students and staff!

BPS celebrates cultural traditions today with Bodhi Day, celebrating enlightenment, and Karen New Year, a time of community, reflection, and new beginnings.
Today is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Observed each year on December 3, this day raises awareness about the challenges faced by persons with disabilities and promotes their full and equal participation in political, social, economic, and cultural life.
